If you want a better site later or need an email address for email marketing, I recommend watching the lesson on creating a blog site. Purchase the domain with namecheap. Purchase shared hosting with Bigscoots. Connect them (big scoots will send directions. You can set up your marketing email for free this way. You will also be able to set up a blog site when you're ready using this technique.
Creating Your Google Website
NOTE: Check out the next lesson before deciding which type of site you'd like to have.
Steps (must have your own google drive)
Right click on website
Click make a copy
Edit Site
Bonus: More Templates
CUSTOM RECORDS:
Host: www Type: CNAME Data: ghs.googlehosted.com
Host: @ Type: A Data: 198.185.159.144
You can also use namecheap to get a domain. If you use name cheap, you don't need the second custom record.
Create Your Wordpress Website and Blog
NOTE: Growing with a blog will take a while (1-2 years, but putting in the time and effort will help you reach your goals in the long run)
Not quite ready for a blog, but know you want one? Create this now and then remove the blog from the menu. You can add it back when you're ready.
If you need help or get stuck, join the weekly calls.
NOTE: I forgot to mention this during the recording. When you first go to set up your WordPress, you will likely get a message that it does not have a security certificate. You want that. Submit a support ticket to Bigscoots and they will get it added for you quickly. You can move on without it, but you do need it. It's what tells people your site is secure.
